# Accessing the Media Library

The **media library** is used to upload any type of external content you would like to add to your publication. A new folder is created within this library for each project, in order to help you to maintain an overview of all your content.

To access the **media library**, go to the the **files panel** in the right side of the editor. Here you can see an overview of the content used in your current publication.

You can then click **open media library** to get a complete overview of all your files and folders present in your account. This library can also be used to **upload new** or **select existing files**, **search for images online** or **connect your own image bank**.
