# Aligning elements

Aligning elements in a publication can help with arranging objects into different positioning instead of elements being all in one alignment, which can typically look boring.

It can also help split certain information from other pieces of information, ensuring that the viewer is able to tell these pieces of information apart. The viewer might get confused when all information is aligned in the same way, while one piece of text is meant to be separated from another.

To change the alignment of an element, simply click the **element** in the editor. You will then see a **white cube icon inside of a blue circle**, typically to the left of the selected element. Mousing over this icon then displays the **content width, alignment, padding and margin options** along with the **duplicate and remove options**.

## Content block width

Change the width of the content block or set to full width (100%) of the bounding box.

## Align options

Align the block left, right or center of the bounding box.

## Padding / white space

Change the horizontal white space (at the left or right side) of the element.

## Copy

Duplicate the element

## Remove

Delete the element

## Vertical white space / margins

With the green arrow in the right top of each element, it's possible to change the top margin for each block. When the same arrow appears in the right bottom of an element you can change the height of the element itself.
