Create a link
Adding a link to an element can be useful for when you want to link to a source either inside or outside of the publication.
To do this, select the element you would like to add a link to. Then go to the right side of the editor, and click the configure tab. Once in this tab, click on the link section to open it and you will see an option called link type with a drop-down menu of different settings.
All of the available link types are described below:
External URL: paste in a website URL. Clicking the element will then redirect the viewer to the website through a new tab in their browser.
Internal Page Link: select the publication from the drop-down menu under this link type and then the specific page from that publication. Clicking this element will then open this selected page.
Please be aware that "Internal page" links only work across projects that are published to the same domain. In other cases you can use the "External URL" option.
E-Mail Link: input an email address, preferably your own. Clicking this element will open the users default emailing application and allow them to send an email to this very address.
File Link: upload a file through the media library using the open library button (if you already uploaded the file previously) or browse for a new file on your system using the Upload button. Clicking this element will then offer the user to download or view the file uploaded, depending on the format of the file.
Scroll Link: when clicked, this will make the publication scroll to the target object depending on what object has been selected and it's position inside the publication. Add a scroll anchor element to your publication in order to be able to select the scroll point when adding a scroll link.
Page Function: select a function type through the drop-down menu that appears. Clicking this element will then perform the action: either going forward to the next page or back to the previous page.
Social Share Link: select the platform of social media you wish to share. Clicking the element will redirect the viewer to the selected social media platform, where they can find your page/profile.
Reference: select the page with a reference attached in the drop-down menu. Clicking this element will open the page with the selected reference.
