In the Add panel on the left side of the editor, you will find the Video element and more that you can add to your canvas.
Youtube & Vimeo
After selecting the video element you can go into the Object tab and upload your own video, or paste the URL to a YouTube or Vimeo video. Both platforms allow you to create free accounts to host your videos. Vimeo also has paid accounts if you want more customisation.
- If you use YouTube, make sure the video is set to Public or Unlisted. When it's private, other people will not be able to see it.
- If you use Vimeo, make sure that it's public or use their options to embed a private video. Tom embed a video, you need a Plus, Pro or Business account.
Uploading videos to media library
If you want to upload your own videos to your page, we recommend that you only use a MPEG-4 (MP4) video file format with a maximum file size of 50MB. This is because of the limitations of displaying uploaded videos on a Maglr page. When your video file size is too big, you can always reduce its size using Handbrake.
The thumbnail of the video will be the same as the one on YouTube or Vimeo. If you change the thumbnail on those platforms, make sure you refresh the URL in our editor to make sure it loads the new one.
The autoplay function will allow the video to play automatically when it comes into view on the publication. So you could set a video as a background, then use the autoplay function to make the video play automatically when the publication is opened. Be sure to check en preview how it works on devices and different browsers. Because of certain policies inside the browsers, videos won't always play automatically. Most of the time, this is because a video has sound or the publication needs some interaction before the autoplay feature will work. For more information, see:
