You can use any YouTube or Vimeo link, as long as the owner of the video has enabled the setting for the video embed link. You can then take this embed link and paste it into the video element option in our editor.
Maglr retrieves video information (thumbnails, etc.) in order to place the video in your publication. For hidden/unlisted video's this information is locked, making it impossible for us to retrieve it. Be sure to place publicly available videos in your Maglr publications. After placing them in Maglr (and after retrieving the video information), you can set its settings back to hidden/unlisted. The video can then still be viewed from inside the publication.
Private video's can never be used in Maglr publications.
YouTube and Vimeo Guidelines
There are several guidelines to keep in mind when using YouTube or Vimeo links for your publication. Please make sure you follow these guidelines to avoid any form of troubleshooting.
YouTube (and Vimeo) has fairly strict but fair guidelines when it comes to uploading videos. You can read more on their website, but we will list things that are not allowed on YouTube and Vimeo:
- Nudity or Sexual Content
- Harmful or dangerous content
- Hateful content
- Violent or graphic content
- Harassment and cyberbullying
- Spam, misleading metadata, and scams
- Child endangerment
- Additional policies
If your video contains anything on or suggesting to these categories, the platform can remove your video and strike your channel for breaking policy.
If the video you have created is your own, then you can upload this to Youtube and then go into the videos settings and copy the link to that video and then paste it into the field from the video element, the video is then shown on the publication to be played.
