At Maglr, ensuring the content you create is accessible to viewers of all abilities is highly important to us. The Web Consortium Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provides worldwide guidance for making accessible digital content and online experiences that consists of levels ranging from A to AAA. We recommend checking out the guidelines when you’re willing to make your web content outside of Maglr more accessible.
Besides the increasing legal requirements by governments worldwide to make your digital content more accessible, the goal of WCAG is that everyone is able to perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with digital content and to provide the best possible experience for every single viewer.
At Maglr, we have developed an accessibility feature for making your digital publications more accessible to all viewers. An explanation of this feature, and how you can use it, can be found below. Click here for best practices for accessibility in Maglr.
NOTE! This feature is currently only available in the Pro editor.
Making your publication accessible
When editing elements in the Pro editor, you will see an Accessibility tab in the settings menu in the right panel. The accessibility tab can be found under the Object tab in the configuration panel. You can use this tab to add a description to most of the elements or hide them from screen reading software.
You can also use our Accessibility Checker under Options in the settings bar at the top of the editor. This module can be used to bring structure to your publication, and to help assistive technologies such as screen readers to know in which order to read the page.
In this accessibility checker, you will see a list of all elements on your page for both desktop and mobile views separately. Users can then determine which elements should be read by screen readers. You can select each element and rearrange its order, add a description or hide the element from the screen reader. This feature is useful for elements like background images and filler content, which might not have added value for your viewer.
