Placing a podcast in your publications

There are several ways to add a podcast to your project, each with its own pros and cons. Below you will find three ways to place podcasts in your Maglr publications.

Uploading your podcast to an external source, and placing a link in your publication, would be the best way to go. This will force your viewer to leave the publication to navigate and play the podcast, but it allows them to save and listen to the podcast at a later time. Another benefit of placing an external link to your podcast is that viewers don't have to stay on the same page and they can listen to the podcast while navigating through your publication.

ProsCons
Viewer can listen to the podcast when they want to.Viewer will leave the publication to listen to the podcast.
Viewer isn't forced to stay on the page.Podcast is placed on an external (paid) source.
Doesn't affect the loading speed of the publication.
Viewer can listen to the podcast while navigating through the publication.

2. Embedding

It is also possible to embed the podcast in your publication, so the viewer can listen to the podcast directly from inside the publication. While they don't have to leave the publication to be able to view the podcast, it does force them to stay on this specific page of the publication for the entire duration of the podcast.

ProsCons
Viewer doesn't have to leave the publication.Viewer is forced to stay on the specific page.
Doesn't affect the loading speed of the publication.Podcast is placed on an external (paid) source.

3. Upload audio file (Pro editor only)

In Maglr Pro, it's possible to manually upload audio files. These files can then be played directly via the 'audio' element. While this removes the necessity of uploading your podcast to an external source, the audio player itself will have less functionalities. The Maglr audio player simply consists of a default 'play' and 'pause' button to control the audio, while external sources could allow your viewer to navigate through the audio file itself. And when the audio file size is too large, it decreases the loading speed of the pages when they are being viewed.

ProsCons
Viewer doesn't have to leave the publication.Viewer is forced to stay on the specific page.
Podcast is placed on an internal source.Loading speed of the publication could reduce.
Simple audioplayer.
