Analyse embed statistics

When Google Analytics is activated in your navigation environment, the underlying published embeds for this domain will also use the same tracking code. Each embed using an iFrame (this is not the case for the inject version) is collecting and measuring data.

Analytics

In Google Analytics, you can recognise these embeds on their unique page URLs (embed.maglr.com/Nnf7dhdX). This is the same code that is used inside the embed code. Using this code/hash, you can create filters inside the Google Analytics dashboard. In case the embed is extracted from a multi-page publication, measured traffic on the embed is not added to the statistics of the publication. These are both seperated.

<div data-maglrEmbed="Nnf7dhdX" data-type="banner" style="position:relative; width:auto; padding: 0 0 56.25%;">
<iframe src="https://embed.maglr.com/Nnf7dhdX?banner=1" frameborder="0" style="position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>

Global dashboard stats

Our global tracing code is collecting data, creating a simple overview of this data inside the dashboard itself. By opening the project statistics in the page overview of the project, you can see an overview of all created embeds. By clicking on the stats icon, basic data results will appear and show their performance.

Keep in mind that the first option (complete publication) is only measuring traffic that is directly visiting the publication URL. When you create an embed code, a unique hash is created. This hash is used inside the embed URL and for the name of the embed container, depending on the embed type.

Use this hash to identify the correct statistics for this specific embed. In the screenshot below you can see multiple embed variations, with each of them having a different hash and a different statistics page.

Custom GTM integrations

When using Google Tag Manager in your global parent website, our embeds are automatically pushing event data in the GTM Datalayer. Click here to learn more about this.

Note: When you would like to use Google Tag Manager in combination with the Maglr embed, please read this article.
