Configure cookie consent
At Maglr, we are always focused on complying with GDPR legislation. Things could change a bit when you are making adjustments to the dashboard settings, add external embeds or use third-party tools like Google Tag Manager. Click here to learn more about GDPR and Maglr.
When you want to add extra third-party tools or activate Google Analytics without anonymous mode, keep in mind that you need to enable a cookie consent that conforms to GDPR legislation. This can be set up through our navigation environment settings or done manually through Google Tag Manager.
Next to the option to implement your own Google Analytics or GTM code by default we offer global statistics within our dashboard. These statistics are collected through a privacy-friendly cookieless solution. No cookie consent is necessary. We do disable the global statistics in case the consent level is set on 'strict'.
Without consent, Maglr publications aren’t allowed to automatically play a YouTube/Vimeo video or store data without IP address anonymisation. We have made it relatively easy to add an interactive cookie permissions pop-up to your publications to comply with the EU Cookie Law, CCPA, GDPR and other privacy laws. You can activate a default cookie consent via your navigation environment settings. Edit your navigation environment via the pencil icon and enable the activate cookie consent setting in the general tab. The default message will state the following:
This publication uses cookies
We use functional and analytical cookies to improve our website. In addition, third parties place tracking cookies to display personalised advertisements on social media. By clicking accept, you consent to the placement of these cookies.
There are multiple types of cookies your viewers can consent to. You can set up this type when enabling the cookie consent. There are three types to choose from:
Light mode: when activated, the standard privacy-friendly Maglr statistics are active and Google Analytics is activated anonymously. Only after accepting the cookie consent, more extensive Analytics options are activated and Youtube and Vimeo videos are started.
Strict mode: activating the standard privacy-friendly Maglr statistics, Google Analytics or viewing Youtube & Vimeo videos is only possible after the viewer has explicitly agreed to the cookie consent.
Manual mode: you provide the cookie consent overlay yourself through Google Tag Manager and let our system know the status of the consent for playing YouTube & Vimeo videos.
You can change the default cookie consent message to create an alternative cookie description along with a link to your external privacy policies. You can do this via the navigation environment settings under the texts tab. In case you are running your own corporate consent manager, you can use Google Tag Manager to integrate this manager inside your publication. You can also ask our developers for custom integrations.
