Scroll to scene or element by URL
From the dashboard it is possible to request a direct link to a page within a publication. If you want to navigate your audience directly to a scene or element within a page via a shareable link, you have to manually create a direct link.
If you are using the Pro editor, it is likely that you divide a page into scenes. With a click action in the page itself, you already have the option to link a visitor directly to the specific scene.
To achieve the same effect with a separate shareable link, use the name of the scene in the URL.
Through the scene panel in the Pro editor, you can fill in a name for each scene. To avoid confusion, it is best to give the scene a short name, without spaces or special characters. Note that the name you use is case sensitive.
After publishing the page it is then possible to add the exact name of the scene to the URL with the parameter below.
https://www.domain.com/publication?scene=namescene
When opening the page, the user will now automatically scroll to the chosen scene. This allows you to send specific groups/people to the correct part of your publication when sharing.
The same method can be applied to elements within a page. Using the name of an element or the uniqueID of an element the visitor will be automatically scrolled to the specific part of the page. Rename your element from the layer panel and use this name in the URL parameter below:
https://www.domain.com/publication?element=nameelement
When testing, open the link in a new screen (your browser could remember the previous scroll position ignoring the url parameter)
The name of an element is case sensitive
Don't use whitespaces or any other special characters in the name of an element, keep it simple
Use the same name for the mobile element (if an mobile version applies)
This option will only work with Pro pages, using regular scrolling scenes
It's not possible to combine the scene and element action together
