Content gate with form
In this variant of a content gate we place a layer over a publication containing a form. You can build this form in different ways with our forms module and determine when this form has to appear. You can also determine whether the form is mandatory or if it can be closed without registering.
The purpose of this module is to use your publications to acquire leads via your the data of your viewers. This is only possible if the information in the document is interesting and/or useful enough. To achieve this, you can decide for yourself when the content gate should appear. This gives you plenty of space to entice your reader before requiring them to register.
As soon as the content gate appears, a visitor is no longer able to navigate. The system is locked and only released after successfully completing the form. When the form is completed, the content gate disappears and is remembered. Any other projects where the same form is used are now freely accessible to these visitors. The form has already been filled in once, so showing the gate again has no function since the viewer already gave you their details.
Setting up a content gate is can be done via the project settings. Note that a content gate only works with active projects that are public.
Note: a content gate CAN'T be combined with other protections.
When setting up a content gate, you can choose from two options. For this explanation, we choose a gate based on a form. Click here for more information about content gates with pro pages.
The next step is to choose the type of form you want to display for this type of publication. You select a form from the list here. This can be a standard Maglr form or an external Hubspot, Pardot, Marketo or Mailchimp form. Click here for an explanation about the forms module.
A form is placed on top of a publication in a so-called overlay. To display this overlay, choose:
On which page the overlay should appear. This can be directly on page one, or any other page of the publication.
After how many seconds the overlay should be displayed. This can be immediate or after a couple of seconds on that specific page.
The background color of the overlay that can be seen around the form. Make sure that you show some transparency when selecting this color. You can set the background of the form itself within the forms module.
Enabling the close button. This allows your visitors to close the form without having to register. You can choose the color of this button yourself, depending on the underlying surface.
If you want to share this project with your already known viewers, you do not need to ask them to register again. We offer a separate skip gate URL for every content gate you create for a project. If a viewer opens this URL, we immediately place a cookie so that the content gate (for the relevant computer, tablet or mobile device) is no longer activated.
