Create a PDF export as handout
Publications made with Maglr can be converted into a simplified version as a PDF format. A PDF is a commonly used document type file format, widely used for its advanced options and compatibility. But because most Maglr publications are created with interactive elements, layering and visual material, there are limitations to this functionality.
Warning: this option is not available for users with a Business license. The PDF download option is optimized for Pro pages and specific presentation templates. Within Pro, everything that is initially visible in the editor can be converted to a page in PDF format. A Pro page consists of one or multiple scenes. If a Pro page contains a scene of the type ‘longpage', the page (even if there are several scenes in this page) is converted in its entirety as one long PDF with all scenes below each other. If the page consists of only full screen scenes, these scenes are converted as separate PDF pages in A4 landscape format. Groups or layers that are invisible by default do not appear in the PDF.
First, click on the publication that you want to download as a PDF in the Projects tab. Click the edit button of the project and open the Project Page Overview. On the left-hand side of the overview, click on Share project. This will pop up a window with multiple functions for sharing your publication and click Download PDF.
Note: before you download the publication, make sure that your project has been published to its latest version. It is not necessary to have your project active in order to download the publication as a PDF.
Once the Share project window is open, you will see multiple options to share the publication. Click the Download PDF, this will then load information about downloading the PDF. Then click the Download button in the centre of this window. A new tab will open with your newly generated PDF of your publication. In the top right corner, you can click the button to download and store the file on your computer, the download location may differ depending on browser and its settings.
