Getting started with the Presenter App

The Maglr Presenter apps let you download your Maglr projects, such as interactive presentations, to a laptop, tablet or phone and present them without an internet connection. All app users present from the same source: when you publish an update to the app, the apps download the new version. You can also present from a secure online environment and share the project with your audience afterwards.

Getting the Presenter module

The Maglr Presenter apps are part of the Presenter module, an add-on to your Maglr subscription. If your subscription doesn't include it, you can add it:

  1. In the dashboard, go to Settings → Subscription.
  2. Click Edit subscription. If your subscription has ended, this button is called Choose a subscription.
  3. Under "Option to upgrade with the following modules", select Presenter module.
  4. Click Continue to payment and complete the order.

If your account is billed manually once a year, the Edit subscription button isn't shown. Contact info@maglr.com to add the Presenter module.

Downloading the Presenter apps

You download the Maglr Presenter apps from the Present page in the dashboard. The Present item appears in the dashboard's top menu only when your subscription includes the Presenter module.

  1. In the dashboard's top menu, click Present.
  2. To present from a laptop or desktop computer, go to "Maglr desktop app" and click Windows app or MacOS app, then install the app.
  3. To present from a tablet or phone, go to "Tablet & mobile app" and click iOS app or Android app. You can also search for "Maglr" in the App Store or Google Play.
  4. Open the app and log in. To give colleagues access to the apps, see Create new app users.

Making a project available in the Presenter apps

A project appears in the Maglr Presenter apps only when it is placed in a category and published to the app. To make a project available:

  1. Place the project in a category. You manage categories under Settings → Categories; see Configuring app categories & access rights.
  2. Open the project and click Publish to open the publish panel.
  3. Make sure the project is set to Project active.
  4. In the "Presenter app" block, click Publish to app. The panel then shows "Last update:" with the date of this app publish.

After you change the project, click Publish to app again, and the apps download the updated project. The button is enabled when the project is active and hasn't been published to the app yet, or has changes since the last app publish.

Ways to present

The Maglr Presenter apps give you three ways to present your projects:

Setting up the Presenter apps for your organisation

How you set up the Maglr Presenter apps depends on your organisation. You can offer one shared set of presentations to everyone, or use multiple categories with access per team, where sales users can also build their own presentations. These articles cover the setup:

Besides presenting, the Maglr Presenter apps offer these options:

Sharing a presentation after you present

After a presentation in the Maglr Presenter apps, you can share the project with your client or audience in these ways:

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't my project appear in the Maglr Presenter apps?

A project appears in the Maglr Presenter apps only when it is placed in a category and published to the app. To check both:

  1. Make sure the project is in a category. You manage categories under Settings → Categories.
  2. Open the project and click Publish.
  3. Make sure the project is set to Project active.
  4. In the "Presenter app" block, click Publish to app.

Can I present without an internet connection?

Yes. The Maglr desktop app and the Tablet & mobile app download your projects to the device, so you can present them offline. When you publish an update with Publish to app, the apps download the new version for you.
