Getting started with the Block editor
In the following video below, you will be guided through a quick tour of the possibilities of the Block template editor. The drag-and-drop Block editor is built for speed and efficiency. It is designed for users that want to quickly create a digital publication. You can find a wide range of templates that we have created via the Maglr dashboard. When you're logged in into our dashboard, you will see Templates at the top menu. By clicking this, you will be directed to the section where you will find all of our unique Maglr templates. Aligning elements in a publication can help with arranging objects into different positioning instead of elements being all in one alignment, which can typically look boring. It can also help split certain information from other pieces of information, ensuring that the viewer is able to tell these pieces of information apart. The viewer might get confused when all information is aligned in the same way, while one piece of text is meant to be separated from another. Changing the background can be useful for setting the subject of the publication that you are going to present. Adding a good image can be a great start to making a first impression.Few readersHiding elements in a template
Hiding an element in a template can be useful for when you want to experiment with seeing the design without a specific element. You could also hide one element and reveal another to see the difference between the two. To hide an element, select the element you want to hide. From here go to the right side of the editor and click on the Configure tab. The configure tab holds many different settings for all the elements. To see if the content fits the template and to know for sure that the visitors will be able to see all the content, we've built a little tool. When you are adding text or other components to an area and they take up too much space to be shown, a red outline will appear in your template. Also, a little red box with a warning sign will be shown. This will let you know that you have added too much content for that area in the template. Deleting elements can be useful for when you have decided that a piece of content doesn't fit in your publication. You can simply delete it and decide for yourself what you're going to do with the remaining empty space. Copying elements can be useful in order to keep a good workflow/speed and to allow yourself to create multiple elements without having to change all the settings for that element. Some elements can be repeated in a page, which will place an extra button and popup inside your template. To repeat these elements, click the + icon next to one of the popup 'Layers' in the panel on the right. You'll see an orange button with options to add, delete or duplicate this popup element. You may have made a mistake or applied an action that you come to later regret and wish to reverse. Or maybe you simply want to add something and then check how it looks on your live publication. Using the undo and redo options can solve both these issues. The easiest way is to simply click the left arrow or right arrow at the top right of the editor. Adding & animating elements
Title & Text
Adding titles is useful for when you want to set the subject of the page you're working on. Additional text can be used when you want to provide more information on the subject you have chosen. It is very simple to add and edit titles and text in order to provide all necessary information your viewer. Images can be used when you want to add a visual representation of the subject you're aiming at. It can be good to give visual examples of information that would be explained better as an image rather than text. To add an image, simply click the add button, go down to images and then select the type of image content block you want to add. Click and drag the content block you wish to use into the canvas. The video element can be used to add videos to your publication. You can add a video from sources like Youtube or Vimeo. To add a video to your publication, simply click the add button and go to the images section. Click and drag the video content block into your publication. Buttons are useful for when you want to place a link in your publication, such as a link to an external website. This is done simply by clicking the add button, going to the button section and then clicking and dragging the button you wish to use in your publication. You can add animations to a content block to improve the interactivity and readability of your publication. It can make certain elements fade and move from one position and become completely visible in the final position. Start by selecting the element you wish to add an animation to. Adding a link to an element can be useful for when you want to link to a source either inside or outside of the publication. To do this, select the element you would like to add a link to. Then go to the right side of the editor, and click the configure tab. Once in this tab, click on the link section to open it and you will see an option called link type with a drop-down menu of different setPopularPopup
Popups can be useful to display more information about a certain subject, which shouldn't be displayed when initially viewing the page. Popups are also very useful to add interactivity to your publications. To add a popup, click the add button and go to the popups section. Click and drag the desired popup into your canvas. iFrames can be used to embed websites or parts of websites directly into your publication, so that your viewers don't have to leave the publication to view it. To add an iFrame, click the add button and go to the specials area. Then click and drag the HTML5 iFrame into your canvas. Select it and go to the configure tab to add the iFrame embed code to this element.Few readersBullet List
Bullet lists can be used to sum up certain information, in order to create a checklist or to create a simple summary of the information. Simply click add and go to the Bullet area, then click and drag the content block you wish to add to your publication. You can fill the list with data or go to the configure tab and edit it further.Few readersGraphs & Charts
The Graph element can be added to your publication to display data that is easier for the user to understand and visualise. Inside the template editor, click the add button and go to the Basics tab, then click and drag the graph element into your publication. Column layouts are used to divide your content into multiple columns. This can add a bit more variation to your project in terms of positioning and readability. To add a column, click the add button. Then go to columns and click and drag the layout you wish to add. Then you can click the individual blocks inside the canvas and add the content you wish.Few readersTab Menu
Tabs can be used to display larger amounts of information on one single page, without needing to scroll through the page itself. You can divide this information into smaller chunks which appear as tabs that reveal the information when clicked. To do this, click the add button and go into the Tabs area. Tables are useful to display data and information in a way for the reader to quickly see the results. To add a table, click the add button and go into the Tables area, then click and drag the table you wish to use into your canvas. You can click the cells in the table to add content to them or go to the configure tab to further customise the table itself.Few readers
Edit the mobile version
Add Specific Elements for Mobile
When editing the desktop version, a mobile version is automatically generated. You can add specific elements to this mobile version, because you may not always get the outcome you hoped for or if you wish to display your information in a different way on mobile. Start by going to the mobile version by clicking the mobile icon on the left side of the editor. This will then display the mobile version of the template. It is quite essential to check the mobile view if you are going to be using the mobile version and allowing them to see it. Your desktop version could be perfectly fine, but it is always safe and recommended to check the mobile version in case something did not come out the way you thought it would. In our Block editor, you can change your elements on mobile independently from the desktop elements. This is useful for when you want text to appear bigger or smaller on the mobile version of your publication, or if you want to reposition your image elements.
