Push contacts & forms to Zapier
When a visitor has filled in the registration form or subscribe form from the side menu, this information is sent to the set e-mail address from your general settings by default. This email address is derived from the main (admin) user and can be changed to an alternative e-mail from the general tab in the navigation environment settings. Click here for more information on setting up subscribtions.
Integration with Zapier
If you want to forward this information directly to another tool like Mailchimp, you can use the Zapier integration. A Zapier integration will post this data to all kinds of external applications when they are triggered from within Maglr. In this help article, we will use Mailchimp as an example to add new subscribers directly to your mailing list, for building your audience.
Note: Zapier is an online automation tool that connects your favourite apps, such as Gmail, Slack, Mailchimp, and more. You can connect two or more apps to automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the integration. These workflows can easily be created and are called Zaps.
Creating a custom Zap: add new subscribers to Mailchimp
Open a new tab and log in to your Zapier account to create a new Zap. This workflow decides what happens when an event or action has taken place. At Built-In Apps, click for Webhooks by Zapier (Premium) and choose Catch Hook as the Trigger Event. Click to continue.
After you have chosen the App & Event you will be directed to a new box where you will find a Custom Webhook URL. Click to copy the URL and press Continue to go the next step. But first, return to the Maglr dashboard in another browser tab.
In the Maglr dashboard, go to the navigation environment settings, click the pencil icon and go to the user subscribe tab to edit the environment where you are collecting new subscribers from.
Tick the push subscriptions with Zapier webhook box. Paste the copied link from Zapier in the field and click Test to see if the webhook URL is working. If so, you will see a notification that it has succeeded. Click save and return to the browser tab with Zapier.
Back at Zapier, you can also test the webhook URL where it will trigger a request from Maglr. This will send a request for data from your Maglr account to verify if the webhook is working. Click to continue.
The first step is now complete, meaning that Zapier will trigger a request when someone has filled in the registration or subscribes from inside a Maglr publication. Now you have to define what will happen after this event has triggered. In this case we use MailChimp to illustrate this process.
As the action event, choose Add/Update Subscriber from the drop-down menu. Click to continue.
First, you have to connect your Mailchimp account with Zapier. Mailchimp is a secure partner with Zapier. Your credentials are encrypted & can be removed at any time.
Then you will be directed to the box where you can customise new subscribers. Here you will have to fill in the required fields to determine how new subscribers will be added. Choose the desired Audience list and add the 1. Email: option in the second required Subscriber Email field.
After completing the required fields, you can fill in the rest of the options as desired to fully customise new subscribers to your needs. Click to continue and test if the workflow is working by sending a request to Mailchimp. Click to continue. Your Zap is now ready to be turned on!
