Configure a content gate

Maglr offers multiple options to secure projects at different levels. This can be done with a password, a secret link or via oAuth. You can also partially secure a project, forcing a viewer to identify themselves in order to make the entire publication available. This feature is called gated content, mostly used for lead generation when distributing content like white papers, premium articles and magazines. The first page(s) can be read, after which a viewer has to fill in their information before being able to view the rest of the publication.

The trick here is to inform or entice visitors about the content of the publication. This can be done by designing a good landing page or by already giving a part of the publication away for free. Using forms in Maglr or external integrations with Pardot, Hubspot, Mailchimp, Zapier or Marketo, viewers can easily register to continue reading.

The following scenarios are possible when it comes to gated content:

1. Publication with 'form overlay'

With the Maglr forms module you can create a form, which you can then set as a content gate on a project. The overlay will appear on top of the publication at a page/time defined by you, where the viewer has to fill in the form before they can continue reading. Responses to the form are sent to your e-mail address or linked to external sources with Zapier.

2. Publication with 'Pro page overlay'

A version of the content gate where you can design the overlay yourself using the Pro editor. You can also use a form, but can position it yourself within a Pro page. Suitable for a content gate where you want to display additional content/imagery next to the form.

3. Landing page with redirect to publication

A separate landing page you can build with the Block or Pro editor. Inside the landing page you can place a form which will, after successfully receiving the submitted form, forward the visitor to the publication.
