Font types to use

You can upload your own fonts to Maglr as TTF (.ttf), OTF (.otf) or WOFF2 (.woff2) files. You upload them in the dashboard under Settings > Fonts > Upload custom font.

Supported font formats

Maglr accepts font files in these three formats:

• TTF (.ttf): TrueType font files.
• OTF (.otf): OpenType font files.
• WOFF2 (.woff2): compressed web font files.

Maglr does not accept WOFF (.woff) files. Convert a .woff file to TTF, OTF or WOFF2 before you upload it.

Font conversion to WOFF2

Maglr converts every uploaded TTF or OTF file to WOFF2, the compressed font format for the web, and uses an uploaded WOFF2 file as it is. Published pages always load the WOFF2 version of the font. The format you upload therefore does not change how the font looks or loads for readers, so you can upload whichever of the three supported formats you have.

Uploading a font file

To upload a font file:

1. In the dashboard, open Settings and choose Fonts.
2. Open the Upload custom font tab.
3. Click Choose font and select a .ttf, .otf or .woff2 file.
4. Click Upload font.

Generating the font takes a few seconds. When the upload succeeds, the message "Font has been successfully uploaded." appears and the font is added under Your custom fonts.

Uploading each font style separately

Each font file contains one style of a font family, such as Regular, Bold or Bold Italic. Maglr reads the font name, weight and style from the file itself. To use several styles of the same font family, upload a separate file for each style. If you upload a font file that is already in your fonts, the upload stops with the error "Already exists".

Adding fonts without a file

Google fonts are not uploaded as files. You add them on the Fonts page in Settings, from the Add Google font tab. To add a Google font, or to manage the fonts you have already added, see Manage your fonts.
