Using YouTube or Vimeo video links

You can use any YouTube or Vimeo link, as long as the owner of the video has enabled the setting for the video embed link. You can then take this embed link and paste it into the video element option in our editor.

Private videos

Maglr retrieves video information (thumbnails, etc.) in order to place the video in your publication. For private video's this information is locked, making it impossible for us to retrieve it. Be sure to place publicly available or unlisted/hidden videos in your Maglr publications, as private videos can never be used in Maglr publications.

In case of Vimeo, additional (privacy) settings can be configured, which could have an influence on how your video is displayed in your Maglr publications. Please click here to view Vimeo's additional privacy settings and their consequences

YouTube and Vimeo Guidelines

There are several guidelines to keep in mind when using YouTube or Vimeo links for your publication. Please make sure you follow these guidelines to avoid any form of troubleshooting.

YouTube (and Vimeo) has fairly strict but fair guidelines when it comes to uploading videos. You can read more on their website, but we will list things that are not allowed on YouTube and Vimeo:

Nudity or Sexual Content
Harmful or dangerous content
Hateful content
Violent or graphic content
Harassment and cyberbullying
Spam, misleading metadata, and scams
Threats
Copyright
Privacy
Impersonation
Child endangerment
Additional policies

If your video contains anything on or suggesting to these categories, the platform can remove your video and strike your channel for breaking policy.

If the video you have created is your own, then you can upload this to Youtube and then go into the videos settings and copy the link to that video and then paste it into the field from the video element, the video is then shown on the publication to be played.
